Serial Number AF386392 dates it to Dec 5th 1939. This machine is 71 years old but a stitching beauty. This machine belonged to my husband's Mother. (I will now bore you with a little of its history). My husband's Mother lost her husband in 1938, he was a veterinarian and they had a pretty good life, however being 1938 and women not so much in the workforce she purchased this sewing machine for making clothes for herself and my husband while doing some outside sewing work until she could get herself situated in a better position. She put the sewing machine away in 1945 and it had not been used since. I have had this machine looked at and serviced top to bottom and have the receipts for such which I will include with the machine. Everyone has said it is a beauty. You can tell by the photos that it is in pristine condition. If you need more photos please ask and I will email them to you. This Machine is ready to take out of it's case and start sewing. All you need to do is buy the thread. No parts to buy. As I said it has been throughly cleaned, oiled and adjusted. All parts are in perfect condition, the tension assembly, bobbin winding tension and motor belt tension has been adjusted for a perfect stitch. All wiring on machine and foot pedal has been inspected for safety and is in excellent condition. It has two needles and the light bulb which works is the original. The Vintage Singer carrying case that is part of this package in in very good condition with few scuff marks, This case comes with the desirable vintage tray that sits on tip of the machine and has the ORIGINAL VINTAGE SINGER CASE KEY. All hinges, latches and handle are strong. The handle does show a little wear from my husband's mother delicate hands carrying this machine around.
